About the competition
Our landscape has exploded with presses and magazines in recent years with the advent of digital publications—so many good poems have been circulated and celebrated, but others have been forgotten, overlooked, and deserve a new life. We want to shine a light upon the poems that you love but feel are no longer receiving the attention or recognition they deserve.
The winner will be awarded $3000, publication of the winning poem, a brief interview in Palette Poetry, and a limited edition broadside of the poem; second and third place will receive $300 & $200 respectively, as well as publication.
Submissions are open internationally, to any poet writing in English—other languages are okay to include, as long as the poem is largely in English.
The poems must have been previously published online or in print to be eligible. Self-published poems are not eligible for this prize.
The poems must not have won any previous awards of $500 or more.
