About the competition
The Diode Editions full-length book contest is now open through October 30, 2023. Winners are to be announced by November 30, 2023. The press may select more than one book. Book contest winners are to receive $1,500.00, 10 author copies, publication by Diode Editions within one year, and publication of select poems from the book in the 17th Anniversary Issue of diode poetry journal.
The contest is open to all poets over the age of 18 who write in English. Diode welcomes collaborations, hybrid work and simultaneous submissions. If your manuscript is accepted for publication elsewhere, please notify the team as soon as possible.
Competition guidelines
- A title page with the title of your manuscript, your name, pronouns (optional), address, telephone number, and email. Your name should not appear anywhere else in the manuscript beyond the title page.
- An acknowledgments page. Poems in your manuscript may be previously published if they are included on an acknowledgments page.
- There is a reading fee of $20.00*. Please send receipt of payment (screen-capture, PDF, etc.) and manuscript submissions to [email protected] with “Book Contest” and the title of your manuscript in the subject field.
- The press accepts multiple manuscript submissions; however, a $20.00 reading fee must accompany each book submission.
