COVID. What a year you have given us. “Because I could not stop for Death – He kindly stopped for me – The Carriage held but just Ourselves – And Immortality.” – By my friend, Emily Dickinson
Chadwick. You fought many battles. You inspired millions around the world to believe. Go well, King.
Writers are often the voice of an era and when they aren’t they reflect and echo the voices of an era. I wish I had said and done things in my time. Emily did. It’s up to you now.
At this crucial time when the nation faces upheaval, the question to us as writers is; ‘How can we use our words to heal; how do we find a twist in this plot that leads us all to a more united place?’
Keep writing. Keep submitting. How I wish Emily had had the opportunities you do to have your work seen, read and enjoyed. Keep submitting.
Today, I’d like you to support a valley writer in some way; buy a book (preferably from a local bookshop), share a social media post or comment on a blog.
