Join Wattpad for a discussion with indie authors Rachael Rose, Loridee De Villa & Romi Moondi about women building the future of fiction

About this event

Wattpad is hosting an intimate virtual conversation with indie authors Rachael Rose (@officialrachaelrose / Gaslight), Loridee De Villa (@summerbackthen / How to be the Best Third Wheel) and Romi Moondi (@romimoondi / 24 Hours in Paris).

This event aims to celebrate and elevate the incredible women sharing their voices and stories on Wattpad all year round. The conversation will be hosted by Wattpad WEBTOON Studios’ Amanda Gosio and explore each author’s journey, the importance of representation, the way they approach writing inspiring and nuanced women in their stories and more. A 45-minute panel will be followed by a Q&A.

Have a question for Rachael, Loridee or Romi? Tweet us @wattpad with the hashtag #WattpadSpeaks for a chance to have your question answered during the panel.

About the Panelists:

Rachael Rose (@officialrachaelrose) has a passion for literature which led to the writing of her debut novel, Gaslight, which has amassed over ten million reads on Wattpad and recently published with Wattpad Books. When she’s not writing, Rachael can be found teaching, candle making, or watching quirky romance movies with her two cats.

Loridee De Villa (@summerbackthen) is the author of the Watty Award-winning How to Be the Best Third Wheel, her debut novel that has accumulated 1.6 million reads on Wattpad. She also wrote The Infinite Worlds of Ella Jane, which won the Shaw Rocket Fund Contest in 2020 and is being turned into a theatrical podcast by the film company Shaftesbury. When she’s not typing up a new chapter, Loridee spends her days drawing, sewing, and watching cartoons.

Romi Moondi (@romimoondi) primarily writes romantic comedies that make you laugh, activate your heartstrings, and maybe even make your eyes produce some salty discharge. Her novel 24 Hours in Paris has over two million reads on Wattpad and will be released by Wattpad’s new women’s fiction imprint, W by Wattpad Books in May. When she’s not writing, Romi can be found dreaming up screenplays, watching Seinfeld and traveling.

Please note:

The Valley of Writers team scours the web looking for the most inspiring, elevating, and accessible events that we can share as a service to our readers.
The big idea is that in a virtual arena, more people can participate. Geographical boundaries matter less.
The events we list are virtual and can be attended by writers from wherever they are in the world.
Unless otherwise stated, we are not affiliated with and do not benefit financially from the events we post. Listing is not an endorsement of the content, opinions, or products promoted by the event organizers we feature here.
Please verify all dates, times and other event details as these are subject to change and are beyond our control.

What qualifies an event as ‘lit’? Any event that we think would teach writers of fiction, memoir, and poetry useful skills, inspire them to produce great work, remind them of the power of this work we do and build stronger, mutually beneficial ties between writers and other creatives.
