FREE | The Writers Bridge Platform Q&A | How do you get it all done?

June 22, 2021 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm EDT

How do you get it all done as a writer? Ashleigh Renard and Allison K. WIlliams discuss.

What it is

Join Ashleigh Renard, author of Swing and Allison K. Williams, author of Seven Drafts: Self-Edit Like a Pro, to learn how these two on-the-go writers and self-publicists get so much done. They will discuss tools, methods and ideas for staying on top of things as an author.

Why we think this event is hot

From her Instagram posts, we can tell Ashleigh is funny and intelligent and silly – all in the same breath sometimes. We like that. Her book also has some great reviews.

We’ve seen Allison out and about in virtual literary circles, as social media manage rat Brevity and offering webinars to help writers tighten their work. She has coached writers to publishing deals with Penguin Random House, Knopf, Mantle, Spencer Hill and St. Martin’s as well as independent and literary presses. She knows her stuff.

From the Organizers

Write the book. Build platform. Promote the book. Be a literary citizen. Oh, and somewhere in there have a family, a job and/or a life. How can you connect with readers without spending hours a day online? Should you be blogging or writing a hot essay? Using a planner or an app? We’ll spell out exactly how much time we spend on our A-work–and what we’ve decided gets (gasp!) a half-ass job. You’ll get our key timesaving apps, strategies to get your kids to clean the house and your partner to understand the writing life. You’ll learn how to create the writing time you deserve, and how to actively choose what to farm out, half-ass, or let go.

Join us live for Q&A and some writer networking time, or watch the recording at your convenience! Sign up at the form and we’ll send the Zoom link the day before. See you on the Writers Bridge!

Please note:

The Valley of Writers team scours the web looking for the most inspiring, elevating, and accessible events that we can share as a service to our readers.
The big idea is that in a virtual arena, more people can participate. Geographical boundaries matter less.
The events we list are virtual and can be attended by writers from wherever they are in the world.
Unless otherwise stated, we are not affiliated with and do not benefit financially from the events we post. Listing is not an endorsement of the content, opinions, or products promoted by the event organizers we feature here.
Please verify all dates, times and other event details as these are subject to change and are beyond our control.

What qualifies an event as ‘lit’? Any event that we think would teach writers of fiction, memoir, and poetry useful skills, inspire them to produce great work, remind them of the power of this work we do and build stronger, mutually beneficial ties between writers and other creatives.
