About the competition

The competition is organized by the Alpine Fellowship, a charitable foundation based in London. The competition is open to anyone aged 18 and above. The competition is free to enter.

This year’s theme is “Language”.

You may submit one poem or a collection of poems as long as ALL the poems in the collection speak to the theme.

There is a maximum of 500 words per entry.

Text must not have been published, self-published or accepted for publication in print or online, or have won or been placed in another competition at any time.

The winner will receive a cash prize of £3,000.

Competition guideline

  • Open to all nationalities.
  • Applicants must be aged 18 or above at the time of entry.
  • All entries must be written in English.
  • Applicants can only enter one of our prizes.
  • Limited to one entry per person.
  • Applicants must commit to using some of their prize money to attend our symposium – details coming soon.
