About the competition

The Alpine Fellowship Writing Prize is organized by the Alpine Fellowship, a charitable foundation based in London.

This year’s theme is “Fear”. All genres of writing are permitted, including fiction, non-fiction and non-academic essays.

Stories must be written in English. Entries should be no more than 1,250 words.

Text must not have been published, self-published or accepted for publication in print or online, or have won or been placed in another competition at any time.

The competition is open to anyone aged 18 and above. Open to all nationalities. All entries must be written in English.

The competition is free to enter.
